Former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly Endorses Patrick Timmins for New York’s 12th Congressional District

Timmins, one of several democratic challengers, “understands what the people of Manhattan need”

New York, NY — Patrick Timmins, former Bronx prosecutor, experienced civil litigator, and professor at John Jay College, received the endorsement of former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly today in a major development in the race for Manhattan’s 12th CD.

Timmins is one of a number of challengers vying for the seat. While much of the discussion amongst candidates is centered around impeaching President Trump and abolishing ICE, Timmins is taking a practical approach to addressing real concerns of everyday New Yorkers.

“In politics, where so many candidates focus on rhetoric, Patrick fights to address the concrete needs of New Yorkers,” Kelly said. “He understands that public safety and quality of life are daily concerns for our people, and that’s why I’m proud to support him.”

“My opponents seem to have forgotten that the job of a congressmember is to serve the people, not to grandstand on outrageous policy proposals,” said Timmins. “Every day, New Yorkers deal with rising costs, a fragile sense of safety, and much more. I will work tirelessly to address these issues and make the city thrive.”

With Commissioner Kelly’s backing and growing grassroots momentum, Timmins is positioning himself as the candidate who will bring real leadership, pragmatism, and integrity to the 12th CD.
