BiographyAbout Patrick Timmins

Patrick has decades of legal experience fighting for the everyday American—and wants to bring this experience and knowledge to Congress. And as a lifelong Manhattanite, he knows exactly what the people of CD-12 need and deserve. Running for Manhattan District Attorney in 2025, Patrick knocked on thousands of doors and connected with residents in the district, galvanizing his desire to advocate for the people he calls his neighbors. During that primary, Patrick received 70,000 votes, 52,000 of which came from CD12.

Following three and a half years in the violent felony bureau of the Bronx District Attorney’s office, Patrick continued teaching at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he specialized in New York Criminal Law and Constitutional Law for law enforcement. He continues to teach there today after 21 years. Patrick began working as a civil litigator for retired union members and others who have been diagnosed with cancer from exposure to asbestos, which he also continues today. Prior to this, Patrick did stints working for Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Division; Bronx Legal Services in the South Bronx; and in the New York State Attorney General’s Office, Consumer Fraud Division.

One of seven children, Patrick was born in Washington Heights, Manhattan. His family is from the Inwood section of Manhattan. He was raised in the Bronx, and upon finishing college, moved back into Manhattan, where he has lived – from the Upper East Side to West Harlem – for his entire adult life. Patrick attended Manhattan University, later on receiving his J.D. at Pace University. Today, Patrick is a member of The Irish American Lawyers Association, Knights of Columbus and The New York City Bar Association.
